Locations for Senior Photos in Massachusetts

First and foremost, WELCOME to my blog!!!

For so long, I’ve wanted to write more to you guys as a way to connect better and for you to learn more about my photography. So get comfy where ever you’re reading this, because this first blog is about my favorite locations for senior portraits in Massachusetts!

Locations for Nature Lovers

1. Breakneck Hill, Southborough MA
this place is SO beautiful. It has not only tall, wispy grass for getting some dreamy photos, but it also has stunning trees that give portraits gorgeous color and lighting. Don’t even start with how vibrant and rich the leaves are in the fall, giving photos such an organic, earthly feel. Who doesn’t love that?

Wait, did I ever mention how beautifully lit the whole field becomes during sunset hours??? With everything becoming golden and glowing, you’re guaranteed to get stunning hazy photos.

2. Chestnut Hill Farm, Southborough MA — Besides being a farm, Chestnut is similar to Breakneck Hill but smaller. It has a little red barn that makes such cute photos. A little further down the trail, there’s a long wooden bench that I use as a spot to take some sitting images. On the other side of the road is a medium-sized field with cows! When golden hour hits, this field is also gorgeous on top of its rich green color from the grass! Chestnut is a place I almost always recommend to seniors.

3. Chauncey Fields, Westborough MA — This small open area is so darn perfect for senior portraits if you’re looking for somewhere with a body of water and trees that make your photos feel adventurous. If you’re a person who strongly vibes with nature and has a boho style, this is the place for you! I can’t tell you how beautiful this place gets during golden hour. Everything suddenly feels like a dream! To see what photos would look like in this location, click here.

4. Medfield State Hospital, Medfield MA — Okay, okay. You’re probably reading the word “hospital” and thinking, HUH? Don’t worry, it is NOT an actual running hospital. It’s abandoned (if that makes it sound any better, lol). It’s a common area for photographers to take their seniors because of the brick buildings and the open field across the road. It actually became my #1 favorite location after my first time going there. What’s so great about it is the variety of photos you can get from one place. From dreamy field photos to stunning classic brick-building photos, you honestly can’t go wrong having a photo shoot here. Even though some buildings, railings, and stairs may look old, I genuinely think these are the details that add nuances to portraits.

5. Callahan State Park, Framingham MA — This park is jaw-dropping GORGEOUS. It has a long curved plateaued trail that leads to an open field way in the back. Spread across this whole park, there are tall skinny white flowers that make pretty photos. Everything looks fresh, healthy, and alive at this park — giving earthly green background for portraits.

…and once again, dogs are allowed here. BRING YOUR DOG. Thanks!

6. Borderland State Park, Sharon MA — This is another perfect location for nature lovers, especially those who looveee to hike and explore. This park has a huge walking trail with a cute pit five minutes away from the starting point that contains a lake and a small house. In addition to the nature part of this park, there’s a historic mansion with beautiful architecture. It’s classy with a touch of a fairy-tale look to it.
